Roadtrip - Oregon Tulip Festival

Part 3 - Oregon Tulip Festival (dates - April 4th 2019)

Here I am, 11 months later posting about our #PuckettRoadTrip2019 and totally out of order now...opps! When we decided to take this crazy idea of a road trip we had a new born baby who didn't sleep worth a damn, we were sitting in -20 degrees with 3 ft of snow outside and my husband has lost his job just days before we welcomed Lyla into the world. In Part 1 - Vancouver BC I talked a little about what we were off to do, and once we got home I did get a post up. key word, A, as in ONE post up! I eventually got Part 2 - Canon Beach up in July and now, almost a year later I am getting another part up for you to read. Looking back, the emotions of that time in our life, the trip, the absolute chaos was overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, we made memories of a LIFETIME and there is a small part of me who can't wait to do it all over again but maybe a bit differently next time!

Anyways, I am excited to share more with you about the trip! I am now going out of order, I still have the Redwood Forest where we slept in our car,  Downtown LA where we had the dogs walking through Beverly Hills, and our time in Arizona. I am going to do my best to get you those posts before next year :) For today, we have Part 3 - Oregon Tulip Festival because its quickly becoming that time of year again & if you have never been I HIGHLY suggest booking a trip. If you remember 2 years ago, Stephen & I took an anniversary trip to BLOOM, the tulip fields in Abbotsford, BC and of course last year was Oregon's Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm! 

Desert Family Fun

I love being able to take the family with me on work trips. When we moved from Arizona I knew we all would be coming back at least once a year. Not only to see family but also because I still had a large group of clients that booked their family photos with me annually. Pssst if you are new here my photography company is: SteshaJordanPhotography!  It is a wonderful excuse to go down and get some warm weather, spend a little quality time, and for me work A LOT.  and I mean a lot. Typically I spend my days waking up at 6:30am leaving to shoot a bunch in the morning, then head home to my in-laws for lunch, then back out again to catch golden hour. Sometimes the entire fam will come with me in the evening, especially is the location has lots to offer like this Papago Park. It makes me feel a bit better because I get to enjoy the "vacation" a bit with the girls, and also helps get the kids out to see some new locations. 

However, when taking them with me it can be a bit more stressful especially with Lyla Girl and all she needs. This TWELVELittle peek-a-boo leather backpack diaper bag has come in as a life saver! I kid you not! It is so spacious, convenient to haul around, and even clips to the stroller. Most of all, the accessibility to the wipes.... life changing! Either Stephen or I will throw it on our backs and away we go. 

roadtrip - Cannon Beach

part two: Cannon Beach, OR, USA March 19th-20th, 2019

I visited Cannon Beach about 6 years ago while passing thorough on a road trip and since then I have always wanted to go back. This little beach town in Oregon is incredible. Breathtaking to say the least. We left Vancouver on Tuesday March 19th, picked up Sofia at 10:00am and hit the road. Unfortunately we got caught at the border in the LONGEST line of our lives. Over 3 hours of waiting. Patiently or NOT patiently we waited. The girls and I took the dogs on a walk around the park at the border, we had lunch in the car, we played games and we slowly saw our time in Cannon Beach getting shorter and shorter. Once we got through the border we ended up hitting Seattle traffic and then we hit Tacoma traffic plus we were stopping for the dogs to pee and give Lyla a break from the car seat. 

We had plans of arriving in at our Hotel in Cannon Beach around 4:00pm so we could have a bonfire and dinner on the beach. It was 75 degrees and sunny that evening which is unheard of when talking about the Oregon Coast. Unfortunately we didn't arrive in until 8:30pm and everything was dark. We relaxed in the hotel and snacked on what we had in the car for dinner and decided if we head to bed early we can get up and hit the beach in the morning before leaving for the next destination. Road Trip - Vancouver

I had plans to write these travel post as we were out on the road but I underestimated the difficulty and honestly the exhaustion I would have when traveling with a new born, a 9 year old and two pups. SO instead of trying to blog while we traveled I made it a priory to document via photos and now that we are home I have plenty of time to write a little recap on all of our destinations! Going through and creating these posts is the best because it takes me back to those fun filled (and entertaining!) days we had! Enjoy the journey of what was Puckett RoadTrip 2019

Sorry I have been a little shy around here lately, wedding season is well under way and life as I know it has been busy. If you have been following on Instagram you will have noticed that we have been doing lots of traveling for work, weddings in all different cities! Last week Stephen and I were lucky enough to travel to Revelstoke, a small mountain town north east of the Okanagan up into the rockies. We had a wedding to photograph on the Saturday so we decided to go up a day early and explore a new town we had never been to!

Today I a going to be sharing all the places we ate, slept, and saw. It was a quick weekend but we managed to fit a lot in! This Spring we have been able  to explore all over BC, last month I posted about our time in Abbortsford for the Tulip Festival in case you missed it and what to check it out!

Bloom Tulip Festival

Hello! Hope you enjoyed Tuesday post all about Abbotsford, today is an extension of that post. As I mentioned seeing the Tulip Fields was a bucket list item for me so naturally it was going to get its own blog post. Bloom is the Tulip Festival in Abbotsford located right off the highway but you can't see it because they have black fences up blocking the fields from the road. With the owners family originally from the Netherlands (home of the tulip fields!) it has become a family affair and how thankful we are to have them here in BC! The fields only last about a month, if lucky! This season the blooms were a bit later due to the long cold winter, I was really hoping for a full high bloom but we got just the end of the low bloom period. I would say 60-70% of the fields were in bloom but as you can see from my photos there is still a lot of green. 

In this post I am going to share 5 tips I have learned on how to take the best travel photos. We all see the amazing images on Instagram with the outfits that match the scenery perfectly, or the image perfect hairstyle, the right sunlight and so on and so forth. It isn't by luck that all these factors come into play when out taking travel photos lots of planning and research goes into the mix. Below are 5 tips to help take the best travel photos and honestly make life less stressful when doing so.

I am so excited to share this post with you today! Stephen and I recently celebrated our 2nd wedding Anniversary on April 22nd and since our schedules have been so busy we wanted to take a little weekend away to celebrate. We are still in our first year living in BC and a goal we made to each other, okay correction a goal I strongly urged to Stephen was to make it a priority to get to know our new home. BC is such an incredible province, with hot hot summers and snowy winters there is so much to see and do all year round. One bucket list experience I wanted to see in real life were the tulip fields! I am sure you have been seeing girls running in white dresses through the bright red, yellow, and purple fields on instagram these past few weeks and I wanted to do it too! Spring is such an amazing time of year and with flower fields just 4 hours from us I knew we had to make the trip down to Abbotsford!

We have driven through Abbotsford many times when driving up from the states. It is the cutest little country/farm town with incredible mountains lining the valley with fields for days everywhere you look. We have always wanted to learn more about this cute little town so we decided to spend the weekend. Take a look at where we slept, ate, and played at during our Anniversary weekend away!

I am so excited to share with you our weekend trip to Cabo we took last week. As I have mentioned before and may may know when I am not blogging my career and passion is wedding + portrait photography. I have been working on my photography business for 5 years now and finally a lot of my goals and dreams are coming true. One goal I set for myself was to become a destination photographer. I have had the honor to travel to fun places like; Carmel California, Aspen Colorado, Vancouver Canada, and this year I was hired to photograph a wedding in Los Cabos, Mexico!

happy December 1st! 

two weekends ago, Stephen and I headed up to Flagstaff, Arizona for a weekend in the cabins as well as a day full of family sessions for my photography company (www.SteshaJordan.com). The weather was perfect and the mountain had so much snow. Way more than expected! It was the perfect situation I could have ever asked for, for all my clients who traveled. Of course we had to have our own fun in the snow. 

Coors (our Blue Heeler aka Australian Cattle Dog) was obsessed with the snow! and I mean obsessed! It was so fun to see the pups out of the city and running wild. We had one great day of exploring, going to lunch at the ski resort, and then spent the night cuddled in the cabin and ordered in Oregano's pasta! It was also our first weekend as an engaged couple which made it all the more special!

Rocky Point, Mexico

If you remember just over a month ago we took a little trip down to Rocky Point, Mexico for a couple days. Located just 4 hours south of Phoenix, Rocky Point (also known as Puerto Penasco) is a little beach town full of taco stands, resorts, fish market, and locals. It is not a overly tourist part of Mexico but there is a large area with resorts called Sandy Beach. Thank you to seaside reservations for the amazing stay at Sonoran Sun Resort where we had the most beautiful view on the beach!

The rooms are actually individual condos (fully furnished!) so if you are ever looking to go down for a week or so + don't want to eat at taco stands everyday, cooking a full meal is definitely an option!As you can tell the resort is directly not he beach so making trips back to the room is not an issue + can easily be done!

Rocky Point is not a club popping place. Its a place to relax and get away, maybe ride a banana boat (see video on my instagram!) for most excitement! Another thing we did for some excitement was walk around the fish market! They have a million different shops set up with, and I quote directly from their mouths, 'a bunch of Mexican crap!' I about peed my pants the first time a vendor said that to me. And right they were. I bought a chihuahua sombrero for Levi (see picture here!) and a Mexican blanket for me. The blanket is not crap, I actually love it and can't wait to use it for photoshoots as well as laying in the grass!

All in all Rocky Point is an amazing place for a quick get-away! The water is warm and totally swimmable, the tacos stands are great, the wifi is hit or miss so leave your phones in the room, and just spend quality time on the beach!

As I sit here at 9:35 pm blogging my night away it is still day light in Vernon, BC! Although I seem to be eaten by bugs I am not minding this relaxing night none the less. There is something said about the quietness of a small town, some may think boring but if used in the right way definitely relaxing! Enjoying my big regular size glass of wine, I am inspired by the quant sounds of the tree's while really taking some time to reflect on my life. I want to travel! I came across the quote below last night, and nothing seems to be more true.  If I could make a living jumping from place to place I would be the happiest girl alive! You can find me brainstorming all summer on how I can make this happen, all opinions welcomes as well!
