Fashion Forward Spring with Zappos

I am excited to have partnered up with Zappos today for their Fashion Forward Spring campaign. March & April are all about MUSIC festivals which means festival fashion is in full force! I am loving this Trapeze dress from Free People for a fun, boho, girly vibe. The lace detail + ruffled bottom give a simple black dress a little something extra to make sure you stand out in the crowd. I had to add the seamless mini slip to go underneath the dress for a little extra length (the dress is short, so can be a tunic as well!) as well as full coverage for under the lace. I wanted more than just flip flops for so I chose these Call It Spring booties to edge it up. Finally I layered on some necklaces + my fringe watch to complete the look.

country polished

shoes (here) + dress (similar) c/o LuLu*s // vest (similar) + necklace (here): Forever21 // bag (wish I had this one!) c/o PinkSlip Boutique

I tend to find items in my closet that I become obsessed with. For the past year, maybe even over a year now I have been obsessing over my denim vest. If you have been reading the blog for longer than a month or two you will be nodding your head "yes" because it pops up often! This week paired the vest with this soft pink dress & my new favorite sandals fro LuLu*s (beware these sandals may become the next obsession..... I mean how perfect are they?!)

I was told the other day that my style was "country polished" which made me do a double take.... is that a compliment? She responded with "yes of course, its unique unlike anyone I typically see!" This gave me such a smile. I don't try to model, I know I don't have the most expensive/top of the line clothes but I love putting outfits together and if I inspire at least one person I feel complete. In saying that Happy Weekend blogging beauties!

lovely in neutrals

lovely in neutrals

You  know that old "rule" you can't wear white before Easter or after Labor Day?! Well, I think we have all thrown that "rule" right out the window! Although, as Easter approaches (my favorite holiday!) whites, creams, blushes, anything neutral becomes in full effect. I LOVE wearing white! It is clean and fresh and always seems to give off a more innocent vibe. I am fairly certain over half my closet is neutrals which is why I decided to make a  wish list for this coming spring. Tell me what you think!

Spirit 75 Boutique

dress (HERE) now on sale! c/o Spirit 75 Boutique // jacket: Forever21 // backpack (HERE) c/o LookBook Store // shoes: Madden Girl // state necklace (HERE) c/o Red Envelop

There is something to be said about my love for sundresses. The obsession started since I could dress myself, well actually since I could point at the dresses and say "mine!" When Spirit 75 Boutique reached out to collaborate of course I was delighted. They are such a trendy, boho, unique boutique that just makes you spend hours upon hours browsing around... especially drooling over dresses.

I recently did a little spring cleaning with my closet and tossed all the clothes that haven't passed the "must wear in 2 years to be saved" rule. After I cleared out a large portion I organized the rest and quickly noticed that I had a lack of clothing that were prints, most of the items are solid plain colors. Bors and snors if you as me! Mission add more prints to my wardrobe was a success when I found this geometric dress at Spirit 75.  The colors are perfect for this season & the dress is flattering on its own or even layered under a jacket or vest!

Spirit 75 is giving one lucky reader a $25 giftcard to their shop, all you have to do it enter below!

good luck!

Spring has always been my favorite season, and although I currently live in the desert where only two seasons happen (summer + even hotter summer) I still will always love the spring months. When I saw this "see you soon" beautiful blouse from LuLu*s I snagged it immediately. I mean the detail, the color, the fit... all perfection! As you saw from one of last week's outfits Spring is the season to neon so bring. it. on! The neon detail in my shirt went perfect with my 80's inspired neon bracelets.
Happy Tuesday, thank you for reading today!!

the non-workout girls guide to working out

Originally, in my mind I thought I was a workout "model", posing as if I was taking regular outfit pics. When I reviewed the pics on my camera I died laughing... I mean is this real life? I A) am not a fitness blogger/addict/knowledge and B) workout clothes are not nearly as flattering on me in real life as they are in my mind. So after trying too hard for the first few pics I decided THIS is how I was going to finish the outfit post.... take a look!

pants + top c/o Aeropostale // shoes: Nike

I am not a personal trainer, I don't know how to workout properly in a gym, and I tend to wear my workout clothes more for running errands than I do for actually doing physical activity. In saying that, I do exercise! Often.  I struggle with anxiety largely in my everyday life so instead of turning to medication I turned to outdoor running. I run 4-5 times a week, any distance between a mile or 4 depending on my mood. I have found that running has lowered my anxiety, almost entirely eliminated my panic attacks, and given me some toned up legs!

This spring I wanted to step my workout game up just a bit. Being that I am too cheap and honestly have no idea how to use an official gym annnnnd I saw Miley Cyrus's butt at the AMA's I factored in squats with my running! I started with 50 squats a day, and every 2 days I upped my count by 10. I took one day off every 5 days to give my body a little rest. *disclaimer I just made this up as I went, there is no "professional" guidance behind my madness!

I do sets of 10 in each position. When stepping forward or sideways with one leg at a time I ALWAYS do both. We don't need any lopsidedness now, do we?!

There you have it, the non-workout girls guide to working out! It is not a lot and not very technical but it works for me. Taking 30-45 minutes a day to go for a run + to get those legs squatting has done wonders for me both emotionally and physically. Just remember you are not in competition with anyone else but yourself. So just take the first step and get those workout clothes on, then take the next and go for a short jog, in no time you will be making progress! I am calling todays post Motivation Monday!

season to neon

shorts (HERE) + shirt (SIMILAR) + sweater (SIMILAR): Forever21 // shoes (HERE): Old Navy // bag c/o LuLu*s // necklace (HERE) c/o T+J Designs

Happy Friday Blogging Beauties! It has been a long one for me so I am going to make todays post short & sweet. I am loving neon still into the spring & summer months. You can't help but be happy when you look at something so bright. I wore this outfit to a happy house date with some friends downtown. It was casual and yet chic, I had my sweater for when the sun dips behind the mountains the cooler temperatures come out. Yes I know even in AZ the temperature does drop... but just a little!

Aztec for Spring

shirt + bag + earrings c/o Pink Slip Boutique // jeans c/o Aeropostale // shoes: Target // watch: MK

Aztec print has been trending for a couple of seasons now and I must say I can't seem to get enough. Being that soft pastels are here for Spring when I saw this shirt from Pink Slip Boutique I knew I must snag it. I love pairing casual pieces with more fancy accessories to dress up the look while still looking comfy  Adding a little pop of color with my all time fav flats from Target finished off the look perfectly. Check out Pink Slip Boutique for more one of a kind items that are perfect for SS2014!

color contrast

jeans (SIMILAR): Abercrombie & Fitch // shirt (SIMILAR): Forever21 // cardigan (SIMILAR): Diane Von Furstenberg // shoes (HERE): Chuck Taylors // camera bag c/o THEIT // belt (SIMILAR): Taget // watch (SIMILAR) c/o LuLu*s // bow bracelet: Sophistifunk // lips (HERE): MAC 'Vegas Volt'

One of my favorite parts of blogging, especially being a style blogger is being able to mix in my photography.  I know many people joke about bloggers and their photos...posing in front of  pretty walls or cool backgrounds but honestly taking the time to find a great location based off of my outfits allows my creativity to shine. Well, sometimes lol! Being a photographer I am always looking at building in a different view than most, or taking an ordinary apartment complex such as the one pictured above and catching just the right angles. I love the contrast between the orange cardigan and the lime green walls in todays photos. It really allowed for the vibrant colors to pop making the outfit more dynamic!
