summer scents

a smell good summer
Summer always has that specific smell of sunscreen, chlorine, fresh cut grass, and lemonade. As much as I love all those things summer also needs to be paired with a nice fresh perfume that can be worn day to night. As the days become longer, routines become broken it is always important to have the perfect smell at the tip of your fingers when needed.  As the summer approaches that careful scent decision needs to be made carefully.  I put together a list of some of favorites for summer '14...topping it off is MAC 'turquatic' & Kate Spade's 'live colorfully'.  The freshness of the light scents are perfect for any daytime activity to keep that sweaty smell down and the pretty smell up!! If you are looking for a more romantic night time scent Dior 'miss dior' or Tory Bruch's signature line are great choices.

Below are some more of my favorites as well! Let summer begin! Happy Weekend Blogging Beauties!

beat the heat

This week the weather hit 107 degrees here in Arizona, it is heating up! What better to do in that kind of weather (definitely not take outfit photos... please excuse the sweat!)? Get ice cream of course! I have a serious sweet tooth as in I need ice cream at least 3 times a week.... it's almost a problem. Living in this kind of heat I have learned quickly the more comfortable your clothes the more comfortable you will be. I have turned to tank tops, high waisted (and regular) shorts, sandals and minimal jewels for a easy look. I also carry my water, make up wipes, and multiple pairs of sunglasses now so my everyday bag has tuned to tote bags like this Kate Spade SATURDAY black and white beauty.

silver, silver, silver

skirt (HERE) c/o chicnova {also worn here & here} top (HERE): Nordstrom Rack // bag: TJ MAXX // shoes (HERE) c/o Zappos {also worn here} // rings (HERE) (HERE) (HERE) c/o Brooklyn Designs // necklace (SIMILAR): Forever21{also worn here & here}  // bangle (HERE): Kate Spade // lips: MAC 'snob'

I must admit as much as I love gold jewels and tones I have a major soft spot for silver. I believe I'v mentioned that before here on C&B but seriously sometimes I just love silver. Now it is difficult to find hand bags or shoes that don't have gold zippers or studs so if you are out shopping and come across the perfect bag snag one up you will be happy you did! This is just a simple outfit I wore to meet an old friend for lunch, I just looove this color green.... kelly green I believe is the proper name! Happy Thursday friends one more day till the weekend!!!

memorial beach weekend

The first big summer holiday weekend is quickly approaching us! Whether you are having a bbq in your yard, hanging by the pool, or making your way to a little beach vacation a little red, white, and blue should be sported by all. Today I have put together a little memorial weekend wish list! I am obsessed with those Surf Gypsy White Crochet Pants... perfect for walking the boardwalk or cozying on up when the sun goes dow. So tell me, what are your memorial weekend plans?!

lace-up heels in the desert

dress (HERE) + clutch (HERE) + shoes (HERE) c/o LuLu*s // bangles (HERE) c/o loopsway // watch (HERE): Michael Kors // Necklace c/o // lips: MAC 'snob'

I have so much to talk about in this post I don't even know where to start. First are you obsessed with my lace up bootie sandals?! I sure am! These babies have totally changed my life, I wasn't sure how much they would go with when I picked them out but as soon as I got them in my closet to my surprise they go with so many outfits. Expect to see them multiple times on the blog! Today I paired them with a  fun conservative geo print long sleeve dress. As Arizona is already in the 100+ degree's I am not sure the style of dress was the best pick but I loved the pattern so much that I didn't care. It will be fun to style it differently in the fall. The third item I would like to discuss is these fabulous rose gold bangles from LoopsWay.  I bought my rose gold MK watch a few years ago and have never found the right bracelets to wear with it.... until now. I love these bangles and the best part is they are only 12 dollars!! Score!

fashion remixing.

BCBG romper (HERE) c/o Zappos // free people bralette (HERE) c/o Zappos // sandals (SIMILAR): Forever21 // clutch (HERE) + necklace (HERE) c/o Oasap // ring (SIMILAR) c/o StyleLately // nails Essie 'dj play that song' // lips: MAC 'snob'

I think I am going to call this week fashion remixing since I seem to have been wearing the same pieces styled differently! I recently wore this BCBG romper a few weeks  ago (seen in this outfit post) as a more dressy look rather than todays casual/cool look.  As the temperature heat up here in Arizona I tend to gravitate towards light airy outfits so those lines of sweat don't start to roll down my back (gross graphic!). I was heading out to a popular street in Tempe called Mill Ave. for a Friday nigh get together with some friends so I wanted an outfit that looked put together but comfy & casual. Pairing the romper with some gladiator flats and pops of neon gave the perfect combination of casual comfy with some spice!

Spring / Summer Nail Essentials

Something I love about Spring/Summer?! Correct answer would be the bright amazing colors of nail polish! I have a slight obsession with Essie (have tried other brands but Essie always comes out on top!)  each time I am at Target  I make my self avoid the nail polish isle. I am not the girl who pays for manicures, I used to get gel nails put on but I couldn't seem to keep from biting them so that didn't last long. While gel or acrylic nails are easy to maintain and always look amazing I just need the freedom to paint what color whenever I want!

While I have the patience of a 4 year old I invested in some key products to make my at home manicure  a little easier on me.  I love Revlon's little pink to-go manicure set. Comes with a file, buffer, clippers, and cuticle cutters. After a few minutes of cleaning I add Sally Hansen's Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil to soften up and moisturize my cuticles.

I LOVE single nail polish remover pads. It may not be the most cost effective but I have a slight obsession with them. I always keep one in my purse just incase of emergency. My mom always told me nails should be perfectly painted or not painted at all! To help with chipping I SWEAR by Essie's No Chips Ahead top coat. I can go an entire week with no chips when using this top coat. Just remember to give yourself enough time to let your nails fully dry!
