because I'm happy!

Pink Slip Boutique happy tank c/o // shorts (cut up old my old white jeans) // fringe bag // Free People bandeau // sandals // knock off ray-bans (real version here!) // LuLu*s knot bracelet c/o (sold out - similar here) // Pink Slip Boutique jeweled  bracelet // lips: 'vegas volt' by MAC

When people ask me to take them shopping for clothes at times I come to a stand still. Obviously if you follow my blog you know I love places like Nordstrom, Express, Forever21, + Target BUT I when I am looking for those unique pieces I always head to online boutiques! Today, I am sharing a look from one of my fav boutiques who I have worked with in the past... Pink Slip Boutique. They always have quality clothes, that fit true to size (this is a biggy when shopping online!), and their customer service is amazing! I found this Happy tank + immediately needed it in my closet. It's the perfect summer tank that can be styled oh so many ways. Also, these jean shorts?! Yep, they used to be my distressed long jeans that I didn't like anymore. They were a little too long + wide at the bottom so I cut them into short! Ta-da, now I have a new pair!

Happy Monday Everyone! Make this week a 'happy' one!

swim style guide

Summer is officially (ok not official to date but...) here! And what better way to celebrate than to go crazy on swimsuits + swim accessories!

I may or may not have an entire drawer in the dresser just for swim suits. And I am sure that I am NOT the only girl like this! I mean you need the perfect suit for each occasion, right?!

I put together some of my favorite finds for this summer:

1. the obvious, the suit! One piece, reversible, corset.... having a variety is a great thing. Now most of us despise trying on swim suits... I am the same way, but once you find a style or store that works for you it becomes not so bad. My favorite places to look for suits are: Shopbop, Loft, TopShop,  + Nordstrom!

2. the cover-up! Whether you are into a loose dress, linen pants, or the tween in you that brings back the board shorts your cover up is just as fun as the suit. I don't think theres a need to spend a fortune on cover-ups, there are many you can find on sale or under $50. AND if you buy correctly you can use the cover up for more than just heading to the beach!

3. Other fun things are towels (I have a secret obsession!), beach totes, hats & sunnies

blue hues + florals

Eliza J Dress c/o // Kendra Scott Earrings // LuLu*s nude heels c/o (sold out - also available HERE) LuLu*s blush clutch c/o (sold out - similar HERE) // Aldo midi rings // Lipstick in 'snob' by MAC

How beautiful is this floral dress?! It is even more amazing in real life than I could have imagined. The colors are extra vibrant,  the material is of great quality (especially the pleats!) + the sizing is perfect. Note* I did size down i am usually a 2 or 4 and I went with the 2.  Sofia loves when I get packages in the mail she gets so excited that I open the box and she gets to open the plastic bag and pull the item out! ... once she saw this dress she said, "thats a princess dress if I've ever seen one! and right she is!

When thinking of how to style the dress all I could think was summer wedding. With the high neckline I knew I wanted my hair simple yet up, and I tied the neck tie on the side of my neck instead of the back for a more Gwyneth Paltrow look.  I did blush + nude accessories because I didn't want anything to take away from the blue + green tones in the dress. I also feel it gives more of a softer vibe which is perfect for the summer season.

Thank you to Eliza J for the beautiful dress, I have a wedding this July + I can't wait to wear it!

Rocky Point, Mexico

If you remember just over a month ago we took a little trip down to Rocky Point, Mexico for a couple days. Located just 4 hours south of Phoenix, Rocky Point (also known as Puerto Penasco) is a little beach town full of taco stands, resorts, fish market, and locals. It is not a overly tourist part of Mexico but there is a large area with resorts called Sandy Beach. Thank you to seaside reservations for the amazing stay at Sonoran Sun Resort where we had the most beautiful view on the beach!

The rooms are actually individual condos (fully furnished!) so if you are ever looking to go down for a week or so + don't want to eat at taco stands everyday, cooking a full meal is definitely an option! As you can tell the resort is directly not he beach so making trips back to the room is not an issue + can easily be done!

Rocky Point is not a club popping place. Its a place to relax and get away, maybe ride a banana boat (see video on my instagram!) for most excitement! Another thing we did for some excitement was walk around the fish market! They have a million different shops set up with, and I quote directly from their mouths, 'a bunch of Mexican crap!' I about peed my pants the first time a vendor said that to me. And right they were. I bought a chihuahua sombrero for Levi (see picture here!) and a Mexican blanket for me. The blanket is not crap, I actually love it and can't wait to use it for photoshoots as well as laying in the grass!

All in all Rocky Point is an amazing place for a quick get-away! The water is warm and totally swimmable, the tacos stands are great, the wifi is hit or miss so leave your phones in the room, and just spend quality time on the beach!

It's Humpday!

It's been one crazy week this week, is it bad to say that I am not sure I will even make it to Friday?! I know, I shouldn't be complaining I should be grateful for my life its just I feel like the past two days have been beyond hectic. Maybe I need some ME time again this week. It seemed to do wonders last week!

One thing I loved about this week is I found a new recipe! I try my best to cook Sunday - Thursday (fri+ sat Stephen can treat me :) ) but with crazy days consisting of in and out of the house, trying to keep my two crazy dogs under control + a 5 year old it makes it difficult to sit in the kitchen and cook for 30-45 minutes. Insert the one pot pasta dish I found on Pinterest! You guys its the easiest thing ever! and I mean EVER! take a look at the recipe HERE. It took maybe 15-20 mins to prep + cook + serve. Best part is that both Stephen & Sofia loved it! score! Do any of you have som amazing quick recipes for me?!
