weekend movie night

who else has a little girl who's completely obsessed with Shopkins?! raise your hands mama. one of the biggest epidemics yet, Shopkins everything. if you remember from a few months ago I posted Sofia's bedroom reveal, and now again, thanks to our great friends over at Moose Toys, she is Shopkins set for life. literally.

this big package arrived the day before Sofia left us for Christmas break. it was such a tease because all the packages go to my moms house and then I drive over and pick them up every other day or so. my mom literally only lives about a quarter of a mile (maybe half mile at most) from us, so super easy to run back and forth. it was such a huge box and when I opened it Sofia's eyes got so wide. I told her she needed to wait until she returned after Christmas break to open it and play with everything. kinda of torture, I know!

we love having movie nights at our place, especially in the winter when it's so cold out. we will either all pile into mine + Stephens big king size bed (dogs included!) or we will build a comfy little sitting area on the floor and snuggle in front of the couch. we snuggled on the floor lots this winter, mostly because we don't have enough seating for everyone (again, dogs included) on the couch. can you spot little Levi in these photos?! that stinkin dog is so spoiled/stubborn he wouldn't move an inch. Coors on the other hand was too busy running around to join us for the photos, he gets a little too excited and is not sure whether to sit, lay, jump, or bark when photos like this happen.

one of the first night Sofia was back in January we had our movie night! she got to open the entire package, stuff her face with popcorn, play with all the little Shopkins toys, wear her fuzzy slippers and of course watched the movie, Shopkins World Vacation. I must admit, the move was actually fairly good! this purple blanket has been washed weekly since then and she wear both pairs of the slippers that came in the package at the same time! not to mention the actual Shopkins toys are all lined up with the rest of her collection on her dresser.

these photos were taken back in January (sorry for the late posting!) but she just asked again last night when the next family movie night/sleep over was happening? by sleep over we mean, every once in a while Stephen will sleep in her room with her or I will. but rarely do we let her sleep with us because 3 humans and 2 dogs in a bed is just about enough to send me over the edge. I told her the infamousness last words of... we will see. which we all know means, I'll cave and one night this weekend a slumber party will be had.

hope everyone had a great weekend, Wednesdays post is a little more Springy, I am sharing a styled shoot Stephen and I did with a local photographer last summer here in the Okanagan. The post is going to include 5 marriage tips we have learned over the years because let's face it marriage is not easy!

Don't have children yet so I'm not familiar with those toys but I do know that a movie night sounds like a blast!
