wedding wednesday

I have been thinking about my wedding since I was a little girl. I mean, every girl has right? It wasn't a detailed dream or vision, I just knew I had prince charming by my side and my location was outside in the middle of a tall hay field. Well, I have found my prince, (I posted our engagement story a few months back!) and now it is time to start planning. It has been 4 months and I haven't done my but the past three weeks I have been getting my butt in gear! I have started Wedding Wednesdays on instagram, and now I have decided to bring it each week to the blog! Hope you enjoy following along on my planning journey!

I started with purchasing this wedding planner/organizer (under $20!) to help keep all my little details organized!

We have not yet chosen a venue, we are headed up to Canada in May to see a potential finalist, however I have been doing research and know exactly what I want my tables to look like. When I say tables, I mean both of them. We are not having a traditional reception, more of an intimate dinner with about 50 guests. So my vision is two long tables of 25 side by side. and I want brass. Brass candlesticks with tall white candles! When doing research online, I was finding brass candlesticks for extreme amount of $$. I could rent them very expensively or searching Amazon, Etsy, Ebay, etc were 2 for $50 or 6 for $75. Some not awful but still not great. Plus I am wanting LOTS of candlesticks.

I decided to check the local Goodwill right next to our home, and found 3 brass candlesticks for about 2.99 a piece. Score! Then I looked at the signage and saw the following Saturday was 50% off Saturdays.... what!!!! That Saturday after my morning photoshoot I hauled Stephen to 5 different Goodwills and we purchased 32 brass candlestick for under $50!!! It was the happiest bride moment I have had yet! Take look below of just some of the candlesticks I picked up!

This week I have been thinking of colors and textures. Ivory, lace, sequin, tulle, golds, and greenery! I have been staring at these textures all week, we will see what I decide on!

Thats all for todays Wedding Wednesday, see you next week!

plaid pastels

top // jeans // bag // shoes // lips // necklace // bangle

Hello + Happy Tuesday! Can someone please tell me how 2016 is flying by so fast? I mean Easter has come and gone, next thing we know it will be memorial day.... crazy! I picked up this spring plaid tank top last week while browsing through Old Navy, it comes in 2 pastel colors (purple + green!) and it immediately caught my eye. This tank is perfect for the upcoming hot summer months, especially living here in Arizona where I am waiting for the temps to reach 100 degrees... any day now! At that time, I will have to go back to shooting my outfits at 6 am to avoid any and all sweat marks!

On a side note, I am loving these sandals (also scored at Old Navy on sale!) knowing full well Stephen will have some sort of snappy comment about them. Once I walked out in my outfit he asked if I was channeling my inner Asian side?! Why yes Stephen, that was my total goal! (inset sarcasm voice)  See Stephen is half Vietnamese, so any Asian joke he can make he will take full advantage of. Now when I look at my sandals I will think... Asian + Fabulous!

another peplum top added

outfit details:

Happy Monday, loves! With yesterday being the first day of Spring, it was also probably the last day I will be able to rock any jacket during the day here in Arizona. The heat has jumped, and by the looks of things will be here to stay all Spring + Summer long! At least I will still have the evening hours for a few more weeks for my jackets.

Here I am again with another peplum top! As I was browsing the floral pattern jumped out  to me immediately + caught my eye. It is so fun + bright but can also we dulled down like I did in the outfit above. It also just so happened that the top matches my favorite fabulous heels perfectly, score! You can also see how I wore these shoes in last weeks post here, and stay tuned for multiple more posts with them to come.

white on white for Spring Break

outfit details:

denim c/o Aeropostale (sold out - similar) // shirt  // jacket // shoes (similar) // bag (similar) // necklace (similar)

It's hump - day!

What an amazing week it has been so far! Sofia has been on Spring Break (since when do kids get 2 weeks?!) + although I was thinking I wouldn't get much done we have been doing lots! Stephen started his own garden, ok I'll rephrase, he planted green pepper seeds and to my dismay they have been growing! So we re-planted those, I polished brass candlestick holders! yes, my first time polishing brass, and I bought Sofia a jump rope so we have been learning to jump rope. Being almost 30 and jump roping makes me feel like I am 55... the joints hurt!

I have also been loving all the Spring clothes that are in the stores right now! I have a client meeting this evening and I am so excited to spend some alone time browsing the mall afterward. I think I purposely schedule my meetings at locations near the mall so I have an excuse to go a little shopping afterwards. Speaking of Spring clothes, do you remember my favorite Spring jacket I wore a few weeks ago in THIS post? I love all the details and red embroidery, I find I wear it much more often that I thought I would. Even though the temperatures are now in the high 70's during the day it cools off at night so this jacket has been on major repeat!

Spring has sprung

I love Spring. It has always been my favorite season since I was a little girl sitting out in my Mom;s flower beds picking all the fresh tulips that had just bloomed. Pastel colors, sundresses come out, the smell of blooms on nighttime walks.... yes, all of it together makes Spring my favorite season. This year I did some shopping while my Mom was visiting where I came across this peplum shirt. I immediately fell in love with it. Once I tried it on, the love obsession grew! I did size down one size, (I feel at times Anthropologie can run a size bigger) and it fits just right. I have worn it with all kinds of denim, and shorts! but my favorite casual look is with these distressed jeans (under $100) and  a bright lip. I added the bright pink for a pick me-up and I think it did just the trick!
