Stesha Jordan Photography | Downtown Phx Wedding

I have decided to share once a week a photography session I have been working on. As most of you know, and if you are new to the blog you will now know I am a portrait photographer based here in Phoenix, Arizona (and yes I am available for travel!). Arizona has a weird wedding season as it is pretty much opposite of all other states. January-May and then again in late September - December is prime time to tie the knot in this Valley of the Sun. If you are having a summer wedding outside of Arizona send me an email, I'd love to have the opportunity to travel!!

I am currently working on this beautiful wedding that took place this past March at The IceHouse in downtown Phoenix. The venue was incredible offering tall brick cathedral walls, old elevator shafts, and beautiful murals... those are just a few of the features the venue has to offer. The IceHouse is not a traditional wedding venue which was such an experience for me as I got to let my creative side go free!

As 2014 is quickly approaches half way traditional protocol of events are changing with the times. One major event that as a photographer I love is doing a first look with the bride & groom before the ceremony. The couple gets to experience each other one-on-one for the first time and they actually get to engage and share their feelings. It is honestly so beautiful, and yes I have cried trough many of them before! As the photographer this is the perfect time to catch the bride & groom when they are looking their absolute best. The brides make-up is perfection, the dress is freshly streamed and crisp white while the groom's nerves have not escalated and he has only taken a couple shots! It also provides the photographer / videographer enough time to catch some amazing shots of the couple while not having the entire wedding waiting on them to join cocktail hour or racing against the sun setting.
