mascara, lip gloss, and a camera

Canon Rebel, 50mm f1.4: 1/30 @ 3.5f
The other day I had some extra time on my hands ( i should have been polishing my nails as you can tell in these photos) BUT instead I sat in front of a mirror and did some self portraits. With a little mascara and lip gloss I decided to do some self reflection.....turned into more of a funny face kind of session, serious face doesn't suit me well.  It is hard for me to sit down and ponder my thoughts, does anyone else experience that? Usually I do self reflecting/pondering when I go for my runs, however that time usually turns into mentally telling myself I can keep running and running. I like to pretend I am Katniss in the hunger games!! SO let me ask you, how do you self reflect? Any tips I could follow?

I feel liked I haven't "seen" or "talked" to you in forever!! Miss you! And can you be any more naturally gorg?? I do my reflections in the car. I love taking drives alone and listen to some of my favorite songs on my iPod. Lame, I know. ;)

You are SO pretty, Stesha! When I want to do some self reflecting I like to go down to the beach by myself and watch and listen to the waves crash. It's very relaxing :)

you MY TWIN are so pretty. love these self portraits of you being your true self. i have a hard time self reflecting sometimes. & personally i dont think i do it enough. life gets so crazy so sometimes sitting on the porch, reading a book, & drinking coffee enjoying the morning breeze helps me reflect on life. sometimes life just needs to slow down!

love you!

These photos are adorable! And I love that you pretend you're Katniss when you run. That's hilarious. I think I do most self reflecting on my commute home from work. I take public transportation, so I really have nothing else to focus on. :)

Love these pictures! Makes me think I need a better camera; you really are an amazing artist.

To reflect... I spend time in water, any water works; the lake, an ocean, the rain... whatever it takes; I can lose myself there and really focus inwardly.

I'm totally the same way! I tell myself that my running will be the time I really think and ponder and just like you it's mostly me telling myself to keep going. haha Oh well. At least it's alone time. =)

Uff!! I don't think I could run at all if I didn't have an audiobook piping in through my headphones to distract me! As for when I self-reflect, it's pretty much always over a cup of coffee, with a pen in hand and a nice notebook in front of me. Writing helps slow my thoughts down enough for me to hear them clearly. Thanks for stopping by and commenting,
